Job Summary

The primary purpose of this role is to set up, adjust, safely operate and maintain programmable guillotine cutter. While cutting, the Bindery Cutter Operator will ensure that each cut made meets job ticket specifications.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Set up and operate Polar cutters, including manual, automated, and computer-assisted positioning by performing necessary calculations
  • Jog, load and follow stock piling procedures for the guillotine cutters
  • Monitor assigned machine during each cut to ensure adherence to specifications and make adjustments as needed to maintain specifications and operating speed
  • Troubleshoot machine problems, resolve if possible, notify Bindery Supervisor/ Plant Management
  • Perform quality checks and stack finished product
  • Record production data with accuracy
  • Adhere to work quality standards and standard of work
  • Run equipment at optimal level at all times to meet daily production goals

Job Summary

The primary purpose of this role is to ensure of workflow through the plant in timely and efficient manner. Scheduler will interpret job information and effectively and efficiently schedule equipment and staff to meet on time deliveries while controlling costs.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Ensure schedule integrity at all times:
  • Jobs are scheduled to run as efficiently as possible to keep overtime, material usage at a minimum
  • Maximize workflow and equipment utilization
  • Perform quality checks by checking jobs throughout the plant for scheduling concerns
  • Monitor schedule to meet outside purchase and delivery times
  • Improve the accuracy of schedules by producing revised schedules based on changing conditions and availability of materials

Job Summary

The primary purpose of this role is to deliver all materials needed to all bindery equipment to assure continuous operation and on-time-delivery schedules are met.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Continuously control flow of the production in the Bindery
  • Meet daily production and on-time-delivery schedules
  • Deliver and stage press sheets, signatures, book blocks, covers to proper bindery equipment with all components for each job organized and grouped together
  • Pull all completed press sheets to proper bindery equipment
  • Pull all signatures, end sheets, book blocks and covers to proper bindery equipment
  • Pull necessary components to Shipping Department for processing
  • Ensure that all pulled components of each job are organized and grouped together in assigned areas
  • Remove waste materials and assist operators with waste management
  • Accurately count bindery supplies and drop kanban cards
  • Assist in 5S, continuous improvement and Lean activities proactively and as assigned
  • Collaborate with Production Coordinator and Scheduler to improve flow

Job Summary

The primary purpose of this role is to help bindery department to meet on time delivery. While handling finished product bindery helper will ensure product meets quality and packaging specifications.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Tend platesetter according to the schedule
  • Read ticket and release job in the software
  • Load litho plates into cassette
  • Unload litho plates, package according to standard and deliver to the pressroom
  • Prepare mail bags
  • Box final product according to standards
  • Perform quality checks
  • Record production data with accuracy
  • Adhere to work quality standards and standard of work
  • Run equipment at optimal level at all times to meet daily production goals
  • Maintain work area and tools
  • Adhere to safety standards
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned and not limited to helping in other areas of bindery: feeding perfect binder pockets, coil inserting, hand collating and other hand finishing work
