We pride ourselves on publishing work from a wide range of voices and showcasing our region's stories. Two avenues of publishing— client and house-published—help authors achieve their dreams. With client projects, clients approach us with a manuscript, while house-published projects are a general concept that we develop, then publish. In addition to our book projects, we engage educators and students in local schools as well as print-related businesses, host book-making visits for high school students, and create themed mini-notebooks for book festivals and charitable organizations. As a student-led Press, we emphasize that working at The Press is a learning experience; our motto is \"failure is baked in,\" because we learn best from our mistakes, and we innovate new solutions and learn resilience, troubleshooting, and collaborative problem-solving in the process."

Rebecca Meacham's energy is contagious. She gets excited talking about authorship, teaching and The Teaching Press, a student-run printing house and publisher she founded at UW-Green Bay in 2018. It's inspiring to meet someone who has dedicated their career to paving a better path for future generations. 

The Teaching Press is described as "more than a classroom, the Teaching Press is first and foremost a publisher. We provide hands-on opportunities for students to experience the art and craft of bringing ideas to life on the printed page." 

The program provides access to state-of-the-art printing facilities, like Seaway Printing, allowing students to experiment with various printing techniques and materials. This hands-on experience instills a sense of confidence in the students, empowering them to think outside the box and challenge conventional norms.

Students are encouraged to work on real-life projects, such as publishing anthologies, literary magazines, and collaborating with local organizations. This not only enhances their understanding of the publishing process but also prepares them for the challenges that lie ahead in their careers.
